Visualized Standards

With more electronics in cars today, the assembly processes have also become more complicated. A simple mistake when laying a cable can be the reason why a new car suddenly stops: a precise description of the processes was necessary, so that all employees follow the same standard. Makes sense, right? Actually, more errors occurred after a description was provided, that was only in text form. On the assembly line, employees from diverse nations work together and not everyone has the same level of German language skills. Therefore, another form of visualization was needed: pictorial standards. The aim was to do without text and to visualize the work steps with photos and universal traffic signs (stop, warning, etc.). The language was no longer a problem and the learning time could also be reduced by 30%.
